Keeping it short today as I have a sick toddler on my hands, argh! We're missing the snowstorm today but hope everyone who is in its path stays safe and warm!
Irving the Icebox monster was made for a big sister to be as a little gift :)
Hoping to have a picture of Miska on the little one soon but she's not in the mood (for good reason)
That's all for today! Time for more cuddles with the little one and Disney movies!

FO Friday 2/1/13
Three FO's to show off this week! Keeping it simple with just showing off pictures so that the little one and I can go enjoy the small bit of snow on the ground this morning before it melts. And then I can catch up on everyone else's blogs too!!

FO Friday: 8/31
Figured I haven't posted some FO's that were non-Year of Projects related in awhile so here they are!
I've been on a bead crochet kick lately so we'll start off will a few bracelets first (and you can ignore the ugly shadow in the first picture lol)
This is such an easy, quick little square with nothing complicated about it but has a great look!
Ignore my ugly join up top, I need to make a few more of these in cotton. All I had readily available was worsted weight which still looks nice but the cotton would give it a nicer look (which is what the pattern calls for)

FO Friday 4/27/12
The bad news is that I've been way way behind in participating in FO Fridays. The good news is that I have a few to share! (And a few stashed for future weeks just in case haha)
To start, I made a Shimmer Lace Scarf
Once again, new favorite pattern and very cute to wear!
Also did a few squares for the month of April! If this isn't bright colors, I don't know what is!
Think that's about it for this week. Just a few small things to share! :)
To start, I made a Shimmer Lace Scarf
Probably a new favorite pattern of mine as it's super quick, could easily be made in a variety of yarns to suit various seasons and it's easy! To match, I made up some v-stitch mitts:

This one I just LOVE. It was a mystery square in a Ravelry group I'm in and the pattern is currently no longer available but I adore it so much!

FO Friday #13
FO Picture time! But I won't be modeling the FO's today. I'm quite comfy in my grey fleece PJ pants and my "We all can't be morning people" t-shirt and I don't wish to publicize that look :-P.
This is my pink Lyla cowl. It's all puff stitch, works up insanely clip and it actually buttons closed but I haven't found JUST the right buttons yet so I didn't share the temporary ones holding it closed right now. I used Bernat Waverly which I never intended to buy any of but after that weird find of it on clearance, I picked up a few. It's so nice and squishy!
This was my first attempt at a mobius wrap and hopefully you can see well enough in the picture that it actually turned out quite well. If you've been reading my blog recently you'll also notice it's the same yarn as my bellflower cowl. I can't wait until May to pick up more of Tess' yarn at Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival!

FO Friday #12
I promised pictures this week for FO Friday and boy do I have them! We'll get straight to them, too!
I guess the above square is more a work in progress thing but still, I was excited to show it and didn't finish it until AFTER Wednesday :)
Here's my Bellflower cowl I made with my yarn from Tess':
I've worn this at least every other day in the past week, I'm obsessed with it. I made another one in navy blue but the sun isn't quite up enough yet for a good picture so maybe next week.
The rainbow criss-cross cowl has also been completed:
I thought I would've hated the rainbow colored yarn but I actually quite like the effect it turned out with. Here's another of it next to the other criss-cross cowl I've done recently that's a little more neutral and subtle:
Also completed my February square for the Donna Kay Lacey Whimsical Wonderland BAM CAL. My first attempts at tapestry crochet and I'm fairly happy with it:
The group also did a mystery square this past week and I took part in that as well. Loving this square a ton. I did switch colors on the outside rounds but mostly because I wanted the blue pop in the middle instead of on all the surface crochet.
Hmm, what else. Little girl (who sounds like she's waking up so I must type faster) now has a toy basket for some board books for her playroom:
The pattern turned out to be a lot smaller than I thought it would be. Sometimes I really wish people would clearly put final dimensions somewhere on things. If I do this one again, it'll be about twice the size to be much more usable.
The Waverly for Bernat CAL/KAL started up two days ago and I've done a total of 1 out of the 12 squares for this week's first clue so....that's what I'll be doing this weekend apparently.

Last one, Lisa Gentry's Hook and Needle Designs Rav group is having their monthly contest and I completed my entry. It's a cute little heart doily with some flair on the edge :)
Whew...ok my marathon of two weeks worth of FO's since I didn't get to post last week is now complete! Have to find time today to catch up on everyone else's blogs too! Happy Friday!

FO Friday #11
After spending most of January making progress on blankets/new starts for the year, I do have another FO to share!
It's my Sensational Lacy Scarf made of size 3 crochet thread, which took forever but I'm quite happy with the result :) Enjoy!

FO Friday #10
Blanket #1 for 2012 is finished!
It's a small, carseat sized pink camo blanket for a friend's youngest daughter. I'm working on a second one in green camo for her son. That one should be done by next week!
To which, for the second time I thought: "At least when I'm done with these two, I won't have to make this blanket again since I've done it three times now." Nope, wrong, I have to make a full sized (6 snowflakes by 7 snowflakes) one in pink camo for someone else, haha so that one isn't even started yet.
Blankets to be completed in 2012:
1.Pink camo carseat blanket --COMPLETED JANUARY 2012
2. Green camo carseat blanket (should be done by next week)
3. Pink camo full sized blanket (doesn't need to be done until Christmas so I can take my time)
4. Block A Month blanket for us (going to be a huge 6x6 blanket)
5. Block A Month blanket for a Christmas gift (needs to be complete by November)
6. Ripple blanket for us (should be done by March, it's my One A Day project)
7. Ripple blanket for a Christmas gift (starting after my other ripple is finished sometime in March)
8. Whimsical Wonderland BAM blanket for our living room (starting my January square as soon as my Deramores order arrives which should be soon I believe)

FO Friday #9
Just a quick, small FO for me this week as I already shared a larger one as part of my Year of Projects post last Sunday :)
I whipped up a mile a minute scarf not too long ago. Really not thrilled with the color (had it in my stash and had no clue what to do with it) but I do like the pattern for the most part.
Short and simple post this week as I've been busy busy working on all the blankets I have doing! That and avoiding all the CALs for other blankets I've been eyeing up. Anyone joining in on Sarah London's Wool-Eater CAL? I'm still trying to talk myself OUT of it! Then I keep saying "but it'd make such a random blanket to use a lot of stash yarn for." Must not make another blanket...must not make another blanket...

FO Friday #8
Also managed to finish the Snowflake Throw which was supposed to be my last blanket for 2011 giving me a clean slate to start my two planned blankets for 2012 but more on that later. First, onto the good stuff, the finished goodness of snowflakes!
I posted a picture of the hubby holding up the finished product on Facebook and that apparently made more work for myself :-P. I now am making three more of these things for friends. Ok, more like two because I'm making smaller carseat sized versions for a friend's two youngest so those two will total about the size of one blanket. I'm also making a full sized one for another friend to give to his wife. I'm excited to try this pattern with different colors! For the two small carseat sized blankets, one will be camo and the other will be pink camo which I'm looking forward to seeing! The other full sized one is going to be a green which will be pretty. All staying with white on the snowflakes.
So in the meantime while that yarn is on its way to my door in a package, I've been busily working on my ballet camisole more. There's a KAL that starts Jan. 1 and of course it requires the size needles that my camisole is sitting on. Now surely I could just go buy another set of that size but I'm being good and finishing this one first instead!
Also looks like my Caron Simply Soft will be going towards a Haruni shawl so we'll see when I can start on that too!

FO Friday #7
I finished my Vortex baby blanket this week! It took me way longer than I should have really but I had decided in September when I started that one block per month was plenty on top of my other projects :).
Little girl appears to love it, she grabbed on before I was even done!
Yes we both had festive Christmas PJ's on...it was one of those days.
I was going to share my button slippers but really that's nothing compared to the loveliness shown above so I'll save those for another Friday.
Next week's goal is the last row of motifs on my Snowflake throw so I'll have another big FO next Friday.
And you know what that means? I finished two blankets before Christmas meaning the new year is free to start the two other blankets I have planned!
Don't forget to help pick my next shawl project on my blog's homepage on the left :) Which would look great as a solid black "go with everything" shawl?

FO Friday #6
Showing off my three quick Calorimetry headbands I knit over the Thanksgiving holiday that I finally got around to buying some buttons for this week!
Using up some of the Bernat I used for my Saroyan
It's driving me nuts I don't remember what kind of yarn this is. It was in my stash randomly without a label.
Lion Brand Amazing :) Not my favorite colorway they make in it but I still like it!
Also whipped up that wreath I was talking about on Wednesday this week. Took me about 20 minutes :)
Pictures were rather hastily taken this week as I'm writing this Thursday evening while the hubby is home to occupy the little one but we all know how that goes. They never really COMPLETELY watch the little one, Mama still has to keep one eye looking that way :-P.
Also there's a poll on my blog's homepage on the left side. Take a moment a give me your input on how my skeins of Simply Soft Light in black should be used in a shawl :) It's much appreciated!
