Squee Sunday!!

First off, I hope everyone's had a fantastic holiday! Among other non-crafty things, I have to share my squee about the crafty goodness I received for Christmas!!

My parents got me a...

Talk about scrapbooking goodness!!! I'm so excited to play with this die-cut machine! It also gives me motivation to do what I've been meaning to do to my desk...clean it! Hubby and I are moving my desktop computer up to our spare room which we use as an "office" so I can use my desk for all my crafty things. As of now, most of my crafty things are up in the spare room which doesn't work well considering I spend most of my time down in the Rec Room where the desk is! Thus...the upcoming switch. The possibilities are endless with this machine and I can' even decide where to start! It comes with four cartridges already too and my younger brother gave me a storage case for the cartridges (on top of an A.C. Moore giftcard :) yay).

I'll also have to make a trip to Michaels as I have a giftcard there too and may use it (on top of a 40% coupon) to get a set of interchangeable needles.

Hubby made sure I won't be bored with:

I love amigurumi and I don't make enough of it, it's too cute!!

Plus, I had asked for this and totally forgot I had asked!

He also noticed (more than myself even) that I constantly talk about a certain attachment I wanted for my KitchenAid and....tada!

Know what it is? The book below he also got me might help!

That's right, we'll be making some homemade ice creams and sorbets! I cannot wait to try this thing!!

Ok, done squeeing about my random crafty/cooking goodness. I feel like such a little kid!

Squee Sunday!!!

Oh how behind I've been in my Sunday Squees but just off the top of my head I think I have plenty to share!

Starting with the most recent, hubby was surprised he was nominated THREE times at his job's annual holiday awards banquet and even better he won one! It was the one he wanted too. Nothing like winning an individual achievement and getting to claim it in front of 500 people in a ballroom! So proud of him :)

Little one has figured out rolling from her back to her tummy AND has mastered the art of eating cereal and not spitting it back out :-P.

We also took her to see Santa last weekend at the local firehouse! It's a $25 donation to the volunteer fire company, get you one 5x7 print (additionals for $4 donations), and your very own 15 minute scheduled appointment for Santa. So basically we walked right in, never had to wait in line with a baby around a germ-filled mall with cranky children AND we got 15 minutes with just us and Santa AND our Santa visit is tax-deductible AND the mall doesn't give you an AWESOME fire truck in the background of your picture!

I thought we'd only get one print of her and Santa but the photographer was nice enough to snap a family shot of the three of us so we have two fantastic Santa prints!

YoP #3 / Squee Sunday #2

Not sure that I'll have time to do separate Year of Project and Squee Sunday posts today so I cheated and tacked my Squee Sunday onto the bottom of this post instead :).

I've been busy busy knitting away on my Peacock Shawlette and haven't had to rip it out again yet *crosses fingers*. Let's hope at 26 rows in, we're good to go (but probably good for me to start stringing in some life lines in case I have to frog anything else).

Also decided I couldn't hold off and had to start my Saroyan this week! Loving this pattern so far, it goes so quick!

I think the pattern shows up best in a solid color but I really like this yarn and it's so soft that I can't resist! I'll probably make another in a solid to show off the pattern better.

It doesn't seem like much yet but I also started the first few rows on my Cap Sleeve Top. I'll have to get a better picture of the yarn because it looks grey in this one and it's not! It's Bernat Baby Stretch in a medium purple color, very pretty. I hate when pictures don't do the yarn justice!

My snowflake count on my throw is at 21/42 (counting large motifs only, not fillers). Looks like this will be finished by Thanksgiving!

Yes, there's one filler motif I have to put in at the bottom left but I had to take the updated picture for today's post.

YoP-wise, I think that's my progress for the week. Two starts and two continuing WIPs so four projects total off my list in progress right now, not too bad! I guess there's really five since my Vortex Throw is on there but the only progress on that was the first several rounds of the third square so no pictures I haven't already posted.

Don't forget to click the link above and read about others' squees too!!

My Squee for this week? Little One, who was previously accidentally getting her thumb in her mouth, can now purposely get it in her mouth! We thought it was the usual accident until she pulled it out and promptly put it back in. Can't believe she'll be 3 months on Monday already! Time is flying!

Squee Sunday #1

I'm glad to keep participating in all the random blog post days from groups on Rav because honestly it keeps me motivated to blog and motivated to keep working on projects so I have something to share! I've already said I had a million projects going on but....my squee today? I convinced the hubby that we needed a giant ripple blanket for our bed and he's good with the idea! Big squee in my book for being able to buy more yarn :-P.  I think I'm going to end up getting this kit:

Normally I don't go for the kits but for the current price and being that it had the ideal color choice that we wanted, it worked out. I"ll have to buy a few extra skeins eventually (it's Herrschners Worsted 8, I love that yarn and it's a great bargain) but this will get a good start for sure!

Herrschners is also my BFF this week because they sell the Caron Simply Soft Light! I was bummed to not find it this week on my trip to various craft store (most likely because it's still too new I assume) and finding it sold out on a lot of sites but Herrschners came through and has it...in stock!

I figured I had every right to squee about something that's not physically in my hands just yet since it will be soon and I couldn't contain my excitement! Figures my first Squee Sunday post is about yarn hahahaha, that's how exciting the week has been.

Make sure to click the link above and check out what others are squee-ing about today on this lovely Autumn (with snow on the ground) Sunday.
